What exactly is the WOW concept?
The woman traveler phenomenon is the inspiration behind Women on Wanderlust (WOW), a travel club that organizes all-women trips the world over. We are immensely proud to be the pioneers - India's first ever women's travel club that provides premium quality, all women tours to destinations in India and overseas, since June 2005. The tour is accompanied by a WOW Buddy, a woman with zest and zeal, truly passionate about travel. We want you to be confident, enthusiastic and relaxed during your holiday with us.
How is WOW Club different from others in the travel industry?
We are a travel as well as a social platform and community for like minded women who join us from all over the world. A single window travel facility that offers tours, flight tickets, visa, insurance, forex and other travel related requirements. We typically invite you to travel to destinations that are unique and different compared to what others do. For example Morocco, Arctic Circle, South America, Alaska, Tibet, Japan and many others. Our travel experiences offer WOW elements that you won’t find from other tour companies - Like a kimono wearing activity with a Japanese geisha, whale watching and walking with the lions in South Africa, enjoying lunch with a local family in Ladakh and many more things that women like. Group participants are 'introduced' to each other in advance via a special group page on Facebook, so that everyone can get to know each other prior to the holiday. We have found that this brings a level of comfort and bonding among members of the group right from the beginning of the trip.
Who typically travels with WOW Club?
Our all women tours attract a wide range of wanderers - from twenty-somethings to sixty-five somethings (and sometimes young-at-hearts) Mostly solo women join us, women who come on their own, small groups of friends, sisters, sister-in-laws, mothers & daughters. Whether you're single, divorced, widowed or have a partner or husband who doesn't like to travel - all wanderers, any which way are more than welcome!
Can I join the tour alone or is it a must to bring along a companion?
Much of the travel industry seems to be organized like Noah's ark—for couples. Travelers who don't have a companion or 'significant other' often feel the brunt of extra charges. Travel operators and cruise lines openly and formally discriminate against single travelers. They impose a supplement—often quite stiff—on singles who travel by themselves. Doubling up with WOW is an easy solution to avoid the dreaded single occupancy surcharge. Yes, you can join any of the WOW tours alone by yourself and depend on WOW to find a suitable wanderer to share your room. Over the years we have had a great success with this, roomies have become the best of friends!
